Mindfulness is a wonderful antidote to stress and anxiety and is incorporated into my hypnotherapy programs as they work so harmoniously together. Mindfulness meditation courses and workshops are a wonderful way to learn skills and feel connected in a safe, supported environment.
Although mindfulness originates from ancient eastern philosophy, it is becoming more influential and recognized in many health and wellbeing disciplines in the west including medicine and psychotherapy.
What is Mindfulness?
To Quote Jon Kabat-Zinn, considered to be the father of modern mindfulness,
“Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgmentally.”
In other words, mindfulness is about being fully aware of what is happening in the here and now, cultivating awareness of the mind and body without the lens of judgement.
When we are not mindful (mindless), we go through the motions of life without paying attention to our experience, ignoring the precious present moments in the hope that some “better” moments will come along in the future. We often miss the miracle of being alive, the wonder and joy of participating in life as it unfolds.
How a Mindfulness meditation course/workshop or consultation can help you.
I utilize and teach mindfulness skills based on my training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).You will learn how to better manage and step back from difficult thoughts, handle emotions and feelings more effectively and engage fully in your life, here and now! You will also learn about what your values are and what really matters to you, so that you can act on those rather than being pushed around by limiting thoughts, feelings and beliefs. Self compassion and kindness to yourself and others is a crucial part of mindfulness and is included in the workshops.
Upcoming workshops and courses for 2019

Reduce stress and anxiety with mindfulness
Mindfulness develops an awareness that you are more than our emotions, more than your physical sensations and more than your thoughts. It frees you and empowers you to step into the largeness and brilliance of your own being and all the talents and power you possess, just as you are.
